Nottingham's Christmas launch
18 November, 4.30pm-8.30pm
Christmas entertainment with a snowy theme incorporating the official switch on of the Christmas lights by special sporting guests. The lights will ripple throughout Nottingham, including the Canning Circus contemporary tree at 6.25pm. Plus the opening of Victoria Centre Ice Rink (first public session at 8pm) the German and craft markets.

Big Night Out
2 December
Enjoy a night out in Nottingham city centre. If you've not been out in the city at night for a while, or you thought it wasn't really for you, then this is your opportunity to see what the city is really like after dark. There are loads of free or discounted activities and you can read more about them here. Whatever you choose to do, join BBC Radio Nottingham's Andy Whittaker first on the steps of the Council House in Old Market Square at 6.30pm. There'll be carols with the Salvation Army Band and 300 free mince pies too.

Christmas at Brewhouse Yard

The museum is a delight with twinkling lights and festive decorations. Santa and Mrs Claus make preparations for the 'big day’. Give them a hand with 'make & take' activities. £3 per person, family ticket £12 (2 adults and 3 children).
Santa at the Castle Bandstand
6, 12 and 13 December, 2-4pm
Meet Santa and his lucky elf Sparkle at Nottingham Castle’s Bandstand and pass on your festive wishes. £3.50 per child.

Late Night Shopping Music Experience
Old Market Square

Sunday Steaming - Christmas Special

Experience the golden age of steam with the Nottingham Arkwright Society at the Industrial Museum and see these steam and early combustion engines working. There'll even be a special visit from Santa!

Great Nottinghamshire Santa Run

The 3km sponsored run, jog or walk raises funds for Nottingham based When You Wish Upon A Star. The charity grants the wishes of courageous children and takes hundreds on a magical trip each year to Lapland to meet the real Father Christmas.
